25 Hurt In Dayton Rock Concert's Mosh Pits
September 16, 2003About 25 people who attended an all-day rock concert were treated at a hospital for injuries, according to the Associated Press.
Most of the injuries occurred in mosh pits near stages at the X-Fest concert, which was held Sunday (September 14) at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.
Injuries were caused by kickings, beatings and falls, with some of those injured being treated for broken limbs, according to Miami Valley Hospital.
"They weren't moshing, they were wrestling," said China Carter, 15, of Wapakoneta.
Some of the estimated 15,000 fans were treated at the concert's medical tent for sprains, dehydration, bloody noses and injuries from flying objects.
There were two stages at the concert, which featured such hard rock bands as COLD, MUDVAYNE, SEETHER, EVE 6, SHINEDOWN, THREE DAYS GRACE, SLOTH, and V SHAPE MIND.
